Run Kona, Run The Land of Aloha!

The Kona Marathon and Family fun run is coming up in just over a month, June 23rd to be exact. This is one of my top marathon picks and it so much more than a marathon. For openers, they follow the IRONMAN course down Alii drive which is Epic. They also offer a 5K Friday night- The Aloha Friday Run filled with entertainment, food and celebrating Aloha Friday Kona Marathon style. It is a fun run and only $15 if you sign up before June 15th. www.alohafridayrun.com.  Well Kona is calling me back again. I ran the Kona marathon in 2012 as a part of my campaign in the fight against pancreatic cancer. The Kona Marathon was number 11 of 52 and I can honestly say that number 11 was like running in Heaven. Not only is the island beautiful, it was the Aloha Spirit and it is that spirit that is calling me back again. The Sheraton Kona Resort their Headquarter hotel is a jewel, with truly beautiful breathtaking views of the ocean. See for yourself ๐Ÿ˜€   Sheraton This marathon is extremely well run and was so very supportive and receptive to my fundraising and philanthropic efforts. The race directors are super friendly, the course is fairly fast and flat. The water stations were filled with supportive volunteers, keeping you cool and hydrated with smiles for miles ๐Ÿ™‚ As if this weren’t enough, check this out: The world famous UCC Coffee is a proud sponsor of the Kona Marathon and Family fun run.
